Hudson Reminds Residents to Lock Vehicles in Driveways and Garages

HUDSON, OH - According to the city of Hudson, recent thefts from vehicles this past Sunday evening are a reminder for residents to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables.

On Sunday evening, two suspects entered vehicles and stole items in several areas of Hudson, including Herrick Park Drive, Ravenna, Edgar Drive, Darrow Road, Glastonbury, and Garden Lane. The suspects, a white male and female, stole an unlocked car with keys inside on Ravenna and used it to drive to Herrick Park, where the group continued its search for open vehicles. A second vehicle (unlocked, with keys inside) was stolen in that vicinity and used to travel to Edgar Drive where they continued their thefts. While on Edgar Drive, they were spotted and police were called. When police arrived, the suspects had fled on foot. They were tracked to the Clayton Court area where the suspects stole a third vehicle (also unlocked with keys inside). This vehicle was eventually recovered in Shalersville.

The suspects might be connected to similar thefts in Aurora on Saturday. To help keep your vehicles and possessions safe:

* Always lock vehicles when parked in your driveway and in your garage.
* Never leave keys in an unlocked vehicle.
* Never leave valuables (i.e., cash, credit cards, jewelry, cell phones, I Pads, laptops or other electronic devices) in your vehicle, even if the vehicle is locked. Don't leave items out in plain view within the vehicle.
*Call police if you notice any persons who might be out of place or who appear to be targeting vehicles.
